This mural commemorates the famous ride of Alberta cowboy, Tom Threepersons, at the first Calgary Stampede in 1912 when he rode the bronco, Cyclone, to a standstill. Cyclone had thrown over 70 cowboys and had never been successfully ridden in competition.

The Mural was painted on the Calgary Stampede midway as a kind of side show, then later mounted on the wall above.
